Prior to joining Geneva Advisors, which became part of CIBC in 2017, he was a portfolio manager and investment analyst at Oak Ridge Investments in Chicago. He began his investment career at Kemper Funds in 1993 and later worked for UBS AG in Europe and William Blair & Company in Chicago.

Dan received his Bachelor of Arts degree in international affairs from Marquette University. He then earned his Master of Business Administration degree from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management and, subsequently, his Chartered Financial Analyst® designation. He is an active member of the CFA Society of Chicago.

Jim Farrell is a managing director and co-manager of the Disciplined Equity with over 25 years of industry experience.

Prior to joining Geneva Advisors, which became part of CIBC Private Wealth in 2017, Jim was an analyst at Grosvenor Capital Management. Previously, he was a healthcare analyst at Citadel Investment Group. Jim worked at Geneva as a healthcare analyst for three years prior to his time at Citadel. Prior to that, he served as an associate portfolio manager at Harris Trust. He began his career as a consultant at Arthur Andersen.

Jim received his undergraduate degree from the University of Notre Dame and a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. He holds the Chartered Financial Analyst® designation.
